Dominik Salcher and Oksana Stefanishina – the winners of high-speed ascent to Elbrus 2018

The next extreme sports festival Red Fox Elbrus Race 2018 took place on the 7th of May. Among men the winner was Austrian Dominik Salcher whose ascent time was 3 hours 29 minutes 36 seconds.

Among women Oksana Stefanishina won a victory. Her ascent time was 4 hours 35 minutes 24 seconds. The second place was taken by Elena Rukhlyada and the third one – by Nadezhda Ermakova.

It is supposed that the distance of the route meadow Azau would be 28 km but because of nasty weather the ascent was changed and from the saddleback of the mountain the participants finished near the Bochki shelter. By the same reason the last year record was not broken which Ecuadorian Karl Egloff set (3 hours 26 minutes).

The program of the Red Fox Elbrus Race 2018 festival included snowshoeing, ski-alpenism and skyranning. Every year this festival gathers more than 400 sportsmen, fans of extreme and active rest. Moreover, this year about 500 athletes from 22 countries arrived at the Red Fox Elbrus Race.
