The electronic queue may appear at the Russian-Georgian border

17.05.2019 Верхний Ларс. фото.jpgAccording to the head of North Ossetia Vyacheslav Bitarov, this innovation is going to increase the capacity of the checkpoint and to exclude traffic jams. First, it is planned to study the results of the experimental electronic queues at the Western border of Russia, as well as the experience of Belarus, where the system has already been tested at the border with Poland.

The booking system for cross-border travelling will be synchronized with the electronic queue. In addition, there is already a special parking not far from the check-point according to the so-called electronic "sticker", which shows the exact parking place and the time of crossing of the state border.

According to the statistics, 2.8 million people crossed the check-point "Verkhny Lars" in 2018 as well as 900 thousand vehicles.
